Our Cakes Throughout the Years: Easter Cake

I wanted to make a special Easter cake this year, so I decided to go with a "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" theme. The sheet cake is actually vanilla cake that I dyed in rainbow colors. The frosting is vanilla buttercream, and I piped grass onto the cake. The path is made out of rice cereal treats. I used marzipan to make Peter Cottontail, basket, the cottage, and carrots. I used chocolate to make the eggs, and piping gel for the pond. **I apologize for the poor quality of the photo. I used my cell phone camera, and it did not turn out very well**

Our Cakes Throughout the Years: Easter Cupcakes

These were two cupcakes I made for our family Easter celebration. The top cupcake is my ode to Peeps cupcake. The vanilla cupcake is filled and topped with a marshmallow buttercream and topped with a marshmallow peep. The second cupcake is my ode to Cadbury Creme eggs. The chocolate cupcake is filled with a Cadbury Creme recipe I found online. I topped the cupcake with a chocolate frosting and drizzled the creme on top.
