I realized that I had never made a Valentine's Day cake before (I'm not into the holiday at all). I had a burst of inspiration the other day to combine apricot and rose flavoring together, so I decide that I might as well try out a new recipe and bang out a Valentine's Day cake as well.The cake and cupcakes are a blueberry applesauce and ginger cake with an apricot and rose flavored frosting. The flavors went incredibly well together! Quite possibly a new favorite of mine!
As far as the decorations, I piped a simple design on some of the cupcakes and added a white chocolate heart on top. I also made a few flower designs on others. I piped a ruffle pattern on the sides of the actual cake, with a flower pattern on top. Voila! A Valentine's Day cake. Done. :)
