Our Cakes Throughout the Years: Puppy-themed Topsy Turvy Cake

Puppy-themed Topsy Turvy Cake
Kristen and Connie designed this topsy turvy cake for Kristen's son's 1st birthday. This was their 2nd attempt at a topsy turvy cake. The cake is covered in white fondant with green and blue fondant accents. The cake itself is princess cake flavored (vanilla, citrus, and caramel flavor) with bright green vanilla buttercream filling.

Kristen hand-carved this cake to look like a princess crown. The cake is covered in vanilla buttercream and has edible pearl accents. The cake itself is marble cake with chocolate buttercream.

Kristen designed this Tinkerbell-themed cake for a little girl's birthday. The cake is covered in pink and purple modeling chocolate. The flowers are made of pink and purple modeling chocolate. There are edible pearls located in the middle of each flower. The cake itself is marble cake with chocolate buttercream filling.

Connie designed this wedding cake. The cake is covered in white vanilla buttercream. There are edible pearls placed all over the cake. The cake topper are gumpaste flowers. The cake itself is red velvet cake and the filling is cream cheese filling.

Kristen designed this outdoorsy-themed birthday cake for a little boy. The cake is covered in green modeling chocolate. The piping of the letters and the border on the bottom of the cake is chocolate buttercream. The little boy figure is made out of a mix of gumpaste and fondant. The log and the deer are made of chocolate fondant. The tree is made of green modeling chocolate. The pond is made out of blue piping gel. The fishing pole is made of out a lollipop and painted over with melted chocolate. The cake itself is made of vanilla cake and tinted with camo colors. The filling is chocolate buttercream.

This cake was designed by Kristen for a little girl's birthday. The cake is covered in pink modeling chocolate. The accents are made out of gumpaste. This was Kristen's first attempt to work with gumpaste to create the figure. The cake itself is made out of chocolate cake with pink vanilla buttercream filling. The stage behind Hannah is made out of cake also.

Kristen designed this High School Musical-themed birthday cake. The cake is covered in vanilla buttercream. All of the accents are made out of gumpaste. The lights on each of the letters and stars is made out of white royal icing. The stage is made out of gumpaste as well. The cake itself is chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream filling.

This cake was designed by Connie for the Wilton Cake Decorating Course. The cake is covered in vanilla buttercream with a basket weave pattern. The flowers on top of the cake are hand-crafted out of royal icing.

Connie designed this poinsettia wedding cake for the final exam of the Wilton Cake Decorating Course. The cake is covered in vanilla buttercream. The flowers are made out of royal icing.

Our Cakes Throughout the Years: Jimmy Buffett-Themed Cake


Jimmy Buffett-Themed Birthday Cake
This is tied for Kristen's favorite cakes. She made this cake for her mom's birthday. Connie is a big Jimmy Buffett fan, and Kristen wanted to surprise her with this fun cake. All of the accessories on top are made of almond marzipan. The accessories are an ocean with a shark fin in it, a lady in a bikini laying on a beach towel, flip flops, surfboard, a "cheeseburger in paradise" with french fries, a crab laying on a tube, and of course a margarita! Kristen lined the bottom of the cake with ocean waves and "pop tops". The cake itself is covered in yellow fondant. The cake is a chocolate cake, with a chocolate schmear filling.

This cake was made by Connie during our Wilton Cake Decorating Course. The cake icing and roses are made of vanilla buttercream. The cake was designed for Connie's granddaughter, Kira, who had recently moved from Okinawa, Japan to Pennsylvania.

Winter Wonderland Wedding Cake
This cake was made for our final exam during the Wilton Cake Decorating Course. Kristen wanted to make it very different than what was to be expected. She always like to do things differently, and is not much of a cookie cutter type of girl. :o)
The snowflakes are made out of royal icing. Snowflakes lined the sides of both tiers of cakes. She made a large snowflake on top as the "cake topper". She also used white cake sparkles to represent snow on the cake.

Our Cakes Throughout the Years: Scooby Doo Cake

Scooby Doo Cake
This cake was made for Kristen's cousin's child. It was for his 5th birthday. He was into Scooby Doo, and she was more than pleased to create this fun cake for him. Kristen hand-sculpted the entire cake to make it look like Scooby Doo's head. The cake is covered in chocolate fondant. The accents are gumpaste and fondant. The cake was flavored with Princess cake flavoring (vanilla, citrus, and caramel). She colored the cakes turquoise and orange to match the Scooby Doo theme. The filling was white vanilla buttercream.

Our Cakes Throughout the Years: St. Patty's Day

St. Patty's Day Cake
This was Kristen's first attempt at a fondant cake. It was made for her husband's annual St. Patrick's Day Dinner. The leprechaun and pot o' gold are made out of almond marzipan.
The covering of the cake is fondant.
The cake itself is princess cake flavor (vanilla, citrus, and caramel flavoring). The cakes were colored green and orange in honor of the Irish flag. The filling is white vanilla buttercream.
